The Office of Clergy and Consecrated Life of the Archdiocese of San Antonio serves to assist the Archbishop in his oversight of the work of almost a thousand lay and ordained ministers working within the Archdiocese of San Antonio. 

The Office is made up of three separate departments under the oversight of the Episcopal Vicar for Clergy:

  • The Office for Priests
  • The Permanent Diaconate Office
  • The Office of Religious Life

The Office for Priests, directed by the Episcopal Vicar for Clergy, is responsible for all Catholic priests who minister within the Archdiocese of San Antonio. It coordinates the work of the Presbyterial Council, the Priest Personnel Board, the Annual Presbyteral Convocation and Retreats. It oversees the ongoing formation of priests through regular Clergy days, the Chrism Mass and Day of Reflection and regular ongoing ministry formation events. All letters of Good Standing (LOS) and temporary faculties (Celebrets) are issued through this office.
