Good marriages can always be made better! In Amoris Laetitia Pope Francis described marriage as a project to be worked on together and a process of growth. The Church provides many opportunities for spouses to deepen and refine their love for each other. The following are a few of these resources:

LOVESTRONG Marriage Retreats

Retrouvaille of San Antonio

(Pronounced: retro-vi with a long i) Designed to provide the tools to help get marriages back on track. It gives the opportunity to rediscover each other and examine lives together in a new and positive way.

The Alexander House

Apostolate dedicated to marriage, family education, and enrichment by creating programs, resources and services to educate God’s plan for marriage. Marriage Disciples, Marriage and Family Therapy, Healing Hearts and Covenant of Love are among many programs and services.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter San Antonio

Provides couples a unique opportunity how they are living the sacrament of matrimony. The program emphasizes open, honest and loving communication to help couples deal with daily stress.

Beyond Cana®

Marriage enrichment ministry prayerfully endeavors to provide lifelong tools to renew and strengthen Christ-centered marriages from a Catholic perspective with an understanding of marriage as sacrament. 

In celebration of Marriage, the Beyond Cana Marriage Outreach presents a couple’s date night on Thursday, April 21. The event will include an evening of music with David Kauffman, and an optional dinner prior to the concert at Oblate Renewal Center. To attend the concert, please register via Evite RSVP. If you also wish to go to the dinner also, please sign up here and pay by April 13, 2022. The price for the dinner is $35 per couple. The event is limited to 30 couples. Encuentro Matrimonial Mundial (Retiro de Fin de Semana)

El Fin de Semana de Encuentro Matrimonial Mundial es una experiencia positiva y personal que ofrece a esposo y esposa, una oportunidad para aprender una técnica de comunicación amorosa que pueden usar por el resto de sus vidas. Es un tiempo para compartir sus sentimientos, esperanzas y sueños con el otro. Las próximas fechas de retiro son del 21 al 23 de febrero, del 5 al 7 de junio y del 16 al 18 de octubre.

Movimiento Familiar Cristiano Católico USA

Es un ministerio en español de laicos asesorados por sacerdotes, diáconos y religiosas que unen a familias hispanas. El MFCC-USA ofrece reuniones de equipos con estudios de temas que promueven diálogo entre esposos e hijos, oración familiar y acción apostólica. Tiene servicio de encuentros conyugales, actividades días de campo, posadas, retiros de crecimiento y se promueve para que las parejas se casen por la iglesia.
