$1.6 million renovation project for athletic complex begins at Holy Cross School of San Antonio

Holy Cross School of San Antonio recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for a $1.6 million renovation of its athletic complex that will feature a six-lane all-weather track and include new stadium lights, bleachers and press box.

Funds for the project were made available by James L. Drought, trustee of the CB and Anita Branch Trust and co-trustee of the John R. and Greli Less Trust.

This project, headed by Hellas Construction and Marmon-Mok as the construction administrators, began on November 8, just four days after the celebratory gathering November 4 in the school’s Convocation Center. Completion of the track is scheduled for late February 2022.

“We are excited about the possibilities the new track brings,” remarked Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Michael Harrison. “This facility will allow Holy Cross student athletes and surrounding Catholic middle school neighbors to train on a state-of-the-art surface.”

Once construction is complete, Holy Cross intends to host several track meets.

Holy Cross School of San Antonio is a Catholic College Preparatory Middle and High School, founded in 1957, which operates in the tradition of the Congregation of Holy Cross. The school’s administration, faculty, and staff seek to develop young men and young women in educating minds and forming hearts through an integrated program of academic, spiritual, and extracurricular activities — in a family environment.
