Hope for the Future – Tuition Assistance

Hope for the Future is one of 40 Archbishop’s Appeal-funded ministries. Its mission is to assist families in obtaining the academic and spiritual benefits of a Catholic school education. With the support of Appeal donors like you, families and students receive a faith-filled education which form our youth through academic excellence and Gospel values.

Erik, a student at Holy Cross, is one of 2,000 students who receive the gift of hope through the Hope for the Future, Tuition Assistance Program. Prior to attending Holy Cross of San Antonio, Erik struggled academically and was a victim of bullying at his public school.

Erick’s parents searched for a better school environment where he could thrive. They sought different options. However, they strongly believed that a Catholic school offered their son the best opportunities. A Catholic education offered Erik a safe and supportive environment, self-discipline, and a Christ-centered community. Although Erik’s parents work very hard, they were unable to afford the financial means to provide Erik a Catholic school education. When they learned about the opportunity of tuition assistance, they applied, kept their faith, and were successfully awarded the assistance.

Today, Erik attends Holy Cross, is involved in extracurricular activities such as track and football, committed to deepening his relationship with Christ, and is succeeding academically.

Erik’s mother shares, “Attending a Catholic school has reignited a desire to learn, has brought back the smile he used to have, and strengthened his passion to be a part of something that nourishes the heart and mind.”
