Seminarians receive Ministry of Lector and Acolyte

Corpus Christi Bishop William Mulvey presided at a Mass at Our Lady’s Chapel at Assumption Seminary on October 10 as he conferred the Ministry of Lector and Acolyte on several seminarians.

Bishop Mulvey represented the bishops of the Archdiocese of San Antonio as well as the bishops of El Paso, Fort Worth, Laredo, and San Bernardino, Calif.

Lector candidates from the Archdiocese of San Antonio were Bernardo Castañeda and Robert Lee Shelton; Luis Gerardo Lozano, Jr., and Ruben Erasmo Riojas, III from the Diocese of Corpus Christi; and Austin Evans from the Diocese of Fort Worth.

Acolyte candidates from San Antonio were Rafael Becerra Gonzales and Ottmar M. Tovar-Almanza; Anwar Alfonso from Fort Worth; Javier Morales, Jose Antonio Perez, and Andrews Felipe Pulgarin from the Diocese of Laredo; Thomas David and Alfredo Ledesma from the Diocese of San Bernardino; and Manh Nguyen from the Society of Domus Dei.
