MINISTRY INSIDE THE WALLS

Archdiocesan Criminal Justice Ministry (CJM) offers support to over 10,000 Catholics in 34 incarceration facilities – state and federal prisons, county jails and juvenile centers, and 2 residential immigrant centers. There is a need for more clergy and lay volunteers to offer sacraments, catechesis and bible study.

Kolbe Prison Ministry (KPM)

Besides weekly programs, Kolbe Prison Ministry (KPM) is active in the state prisons with 3 day retreats (modelled after ACTS) followed by RCIA to ā€˜formā€™ those wanting to become Catholic or return to the Church. There will be 12 Kolbe retreats planned in 2019 within the Archdiocese. If you are interested you can find more details on the Kolbe Prison Ministries San Antonio website. Also Kolbe retreats are being held throughout the state of Texas and now into Louisiana through the effort of the mission group from Fredericksburg where this ministry first began.
