RESPECT LIFE 2023

OCTOBER IS RESPECT LIFE MONTH

Each October, a new cycle of the Respect Life Program begins. This is a year-round, nationwide effort sponsored by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to help Catholics understand, value, and become engaged with building a culture that cherishes every human life.

This yearā€™s Respect Life theme from the USCCB is Radical Solidarity, which invites Catholics to be deeply transformed by Christā€™s example of love. We are called to embrace human life, come alongside the vulnerable, and move in compassion to contribute to a culture of life. As Archbishop Gustavo stated in his homily at Januaryā€™s Mass for Life: ā€œA greater respect for life ā€“ from the womb to the tomb and at every stage between conception and natural death ā€“ is only possible through a greater and more perfect love of God and all people. No one may be excluded from our love, as no one is excluded from the love of God.ā€
