Bishop John W. Yanta Scholars — Funding a Legacy
Bishop Emeritus John W. Yanta is a name many people recognize. In his 39 as a priest and 20 years as a bishop, he served as the CYO director, a founding member and executive director of Catholic Television San Antonio (CTSA), editor of Today’s Catholic, and served at many parishes blessed with a Catholic school.
Khaki and Plaid Gala largest event to support Catholic school education
The Sixth Annual Khaki & Plaid Gala, Homecoming 2015, benefiting Hope for the Future (HOPE). With a record 1,100 guests expected, the evening will be filled with local business leaders, celebrities and supporters of Catholic school education. Proceeds from the event are used to provide tuition assistance to economically disadvantaged families so they can attend a Catholic school of their choice.
High hopes for high school students
“It just isn’t enough … thank you so much for the $1,800, but I can t cover the remaining ($6,500) cost of my daughter’s Catholic high school tuition…” These are sentiments heard by the Hope for the Future and principals’ offices all too often.This child, like many others whose family needs more assistance, ended up attending a school that was NOT the best option for her.
