Preparing for class in a pandemic

Most Catholic schools in the archdiocese reopened on August 17 for both in-person and remote learning this fall, with teachers and staff addressing the challenges both to students’ health and their education.

Some of the planning included moving classes to a larger rooms when necessary and requiring students to wear masks.

Each school also prepared an extensive reopening plan that adheres to local health and safety guidelines and Centers for Disease Prevention and Control directives, and each school is prepared to pivot from distance learning to in-person instruction at any given time.

As many businesses, organizations, and government offices around the country are doing, Catholic schools made accommodations to adapt to the new realities caused by this pandemic.
