Season of Welcome

On the weekend of September 14th, the Archdiocese of San Antonio will begin "The Season of Welcome". The primary purpose of the Season of Welcome is to proclaim the saving love of Jesus Christ and to invite others to an encounter with Him in the beauty of the Mass. This New Evangelization outreach effort aims to let people know that all are WELCOME in the Catholic Church.

Pray for Peace in Iraq

My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

This past weekend Catholics across the nation  joined their voices in prayer for peace in Iraq. Christians and other vulnerable populations in Iraq as tjeu face the destruction, burning and looting of churches, homes and businesses being threatened by the Islamic State (ISIS).

We must continue to pray for peace in this troubled part of the world, and let your elected representatives know of your concern that humanitarian assistance reach Christians and other religious minorities who are suffering in Iraq, Syria, and other countries. Below see the prayer for peace written by Patriarch Louis Sako of Baghdad.

Sincerely in Christ,
Archbishop Gustavo
