Merced Housing Texas offers assistances to families and individuals
As we approach the end of 2024, we reflect on the incredible stories of strength, resilience, and community that have shaped the past year.
From the homeowners who can now live safely in their homes, to the residents building brighter futures, and the dedicated staff and partners who make it all possible — every person plays a role in the Merced Housing Texas mission.
Your generosity has helped make our work possible for the past 30 years, but our mission is far from over.
Our community continues to grow, and the need for safe, affordable housing and critical support services is greater than ever.
This year, People of Merced, an end-of-year giving initiative that highlights the impact of your support on the lives of those we serve, is raising funds for three vital programs:
Owner-Occupied Repair: Ensuring homeowners can age in place safely, by addressing critical repairs and improvements, like Ms. Cedillo, whose home has been a haven for so many members of her family but due to mounting critical repairs needed, became unsafe for Ms. Cedillo until she was able to receive no-cost home repairs.
Resident Services: Offering life-changing resources, from financial literacy to health and wellness services to residents in our multi-family communities, like Barbie, who lives in a multigenerational home and attends helpful programming that benefits not only her but her grandchildren as well.
Multi-Family Housing: Developing and maintaining affordable housing communities where individuals and families can thrive, like the many older adults living at Casitas de Merced, who no longer need to worry about choosing between rent or groceries and vital medications.
When you support People of Merced, you invest in the heart of our mission—providing safe, affordable housing for our neighbors across Texas. Will you join us again this year and help us reach our campaign goal of $50,000? Together, we can continue building safe, healthy, and sustainable communities where everyone can prosper.
Today, people like Ms. Cedillo, Barbie, and hundreds of older adult neighbors get to thrive and age securely in their homes.
Thank you for being a part of the People of Merced.
Together, we are building strong and healthy communities—one home, one family, one community at a time.
