Join us for the Assembly on Saturday, October 26, 2024 as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the diocese of San Antonio in 1874! We will gather at St. Mary’s University to celebrate this extraordinary and momentous occasion in the life of the local church! Be a part of this historic moment in the life of the Archdiocese of San Antonio!

Celebrate a historic Mass with Apostolic Nuncio to the U.S., Cardinal Christophe Pierre, the Pope’s representative, and the visiting bishops of Texas.

Honor our history and envision our tomorrow through dynamic presentations illuminating the archdiocese.

Explore an exhibition of treasured artifacts from the archdiocesan archives.

Enjoy free food and fellowship.

Celebrating Our Past, Present, and Future

In this unforgettable production, we will showcase and celebrate the past, present, and future of the archdiocese by weaving live narration from Auxiliary Bishop Michael Boulette, D.Min, Auxiliary Bishop Gary Janak, J.C.L., and Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, with live musical and theatrical performances, and audio-visual media, followed by a grand finale.

Grand Finale Show

This amazing Grand Finale will consist of a climactic collage concert consisting of multiple groups performing consecutively including Catholic church choirs, Matachines dance troupes, and mariachis.

12:05 p.m.

Food and Fellowship

Assembly will end with an outdoor Food and Fellowship Festival that will include the following festive elements:

  • Food Booths: We will have 10 food booths set up offering 5 different, delicious multicultural types of food for free that reflect 5 of the diverse cultures in the archdiocese (Mexican, Asian, Polish, Italian, and Tex-Mex).
  • Live Music: We will have mariachis performing on an outdoor stage, as you enjoy food and fellowship with one another. DJ Music will follow their performance to keep the party going.
  • Kids Zone: Hosted by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of San Antonio, we will have a specific area outdoors offering a variety of different fun, engaging, and interactive activities for children and their parents.

St. Mary's University Bag Check Policy

To maintain a safe and secure environment, St. Mary’s University has implemented a bag check policy at Bill Greehey Arena. All bags, strollers and carriers are subject to search and inspection before entering the facility. Guests failing to comply with the above policies will be asked to return their bags and/or items to their vehicle or be denied entry.
