St. Peter the Apostle-Boerne Marriage Preparation Retreat

The Marriage Preparation Retreat at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church provides engaged couples the opportunity to learn from experienced, happily married couples, the steps that they have taken in developing a life-long friendship and loving relationship that involves the couple and God as a three-person team in that relationship.

The Marriage Preparation Retreat is based on what is taught in The Catechism of the Catholic Church and the principles of good communication in all aspects that strengthen the marital bond.

Engaged Couples will learn:

• Steps to take for effective communication
• More about themselves
• Understanding our marriage in God’s Plan for us versus what the world has in mind for us
• Steps to take for a successful financial life together
• NaPro Technology
• Natural Family Planning, its effectiveness and the satisfaction it provides both spouses, touching on Theology of the Body
• How your Domestic Church is so important to the Universal Church
• Living the Sacrament of Marriage

There will be time provided for the couples to get to know one another and socialize.

This Marriage Preparation Retreat complements and supplements any other marriage preparation the couple is participating in such as the “For Better & For Ever” Engaged Sponsor Program, and other programs used at other parishes.

The Marriage Preparation Retreat will begin Friday evening with the first two presentations and a social for the engaged couples to get to know one another and will continue Saturday and finish with the Saturday Vigil Mass.
