In remembering the extraordinary mission of Our Lady of Guadalupe, she asks us to share her message of hope, compassion, and love, especially in this season of Advent, Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, told the faithful at the annual archdiocesan Mass with the Federation of Guadalupanas, held December 1 at St. Mark the Evangelist Church.

The archbishop explained that the first Sunday Advent reminds us of the three comings of Jesus.

First, He came to us as a child, born of the Virgin Mary, in the humblest of circumstances.

Second, He comes into our hearts every day if we invite Him in through prayer, love, and service.

Finally, He will come again at the end of time to bring justice and peace.

“Our Lady of Guadalupe points us toward each of these comings, urging us to prepare our hearts, just as she asked Juan Diego to prepare a place for her to make her Son known,” emphasized Archbishop Gustavo.

The Missionary of the Holy Spirit concluded by calling everyone take up this mission with joy. “Let us be ambassadors of Our Lady of Guadalupe, proclaiming her message of love and hope,” he proclaimed. “Lift your hearts, for Jesus is near, and Mary walks with us.”

Following Communion the archbishop placed a crown of roses atop a statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe and then installed new officers of the 2025-2026 Board of Directors for the Federation of Guadalupanos. They include President Leticia “Trish” Gonzalez of Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine in San Antonio, First Vice President Veronica Davis of St. Mark the Evangelist Church, Second Vice President Santos Medina of St. Joseph Church-Honey Creek in Spring Branch, Secretary Elma Elizondo of Prince of Peace Church, and Treasurer Carmen Cardonita of St. Rose of Lima Church. The prayer of consecration followed.

Prayer of Consecration to Our Lady of Guadalupe

Most Holy Virgin of Guadalupe, Queen, Mother and Patroness of the Guadalupanos, wholeheartedly I offer You my heart, my family and all my works. I renew my efforts to want to serve You and Your Most Holy Son every day of my mortal life. I desire to have everyone know and love you. I wish to work for the enrichment of Your temple and Your devotion. Grant that the spirit of discord and all that may be harmful to the Society of Our Lady of Guadalupe not be prt of my life. As a sign of love, I beg you, Oh my tender Mother, that you bless my family, my friends, my enemies, and myself. Help the members of this Society grow in number and faith. Give courage to my work. Give me the perseverance that after having served You in this world, I may enjoy eternal glory with You in Heaven. Amen.

V./Nuestra Señora De Guadalupe,
R./Ruega por nosotros.

V./Mi Corazón en amarte eternamente se ocupe.

R./Y mi lengua en alabarte, Madre Mia de Guadalupe.
