Catholic Charities is committed to providing support to individuals of all ages, including seniors within the community. The Foster Grandparents Program (FGP) is designed to facilitate meaningful connections between elderly individuals and young people. Through the FGP, volunteer foster grandparents offer personalized tutoring, mentor at-risk youth, and provide nurturing care for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. These dedicated volunteers collaborate with Catholic Charities’ family of agencies and various community organizations to ensure that children receive love, respect, and dignity. By participating in this program, seniors in the community can share their time and wealth of experience, contributing to the betterment of the community through a wide range of programs and initiatives.

Throughout the year, our program provides seniors with a range of events, allowing them to express themselves, connect with others, and make lasting memories.

One of the most cherished occasions is the Senior Prom, a time when volunteers come together to share the joy of dancing to classic “oldies” tunes and create a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere for everyone.

The Foster Grandparent volunteers bring love and joy to each meeting, celebration, and event. To learn more about Foster Grandparents, or how to register to become a Foster Grandparent, visit the website at https://www.ccaosa.org/senior-services/ or call 210-242-3129.
