The Archives and Records Management Office (ARM) is an office of the Chancellor and serves as the official repository for the records of the Catholic Archdiocese of San Antonio in accordance with Canon 482 of the Code of Canon Law.
The mission of the office is to collect, preserve, and make available the permanent and official records that pertain to the Archdiocese of San Antonio, its parishes, agencies, institutions, and people. The Archives seeks to promote an understanding of the origin, history, growth, and goals of the archdiocese as reflected in the workings of its offices, agencies and institutions by providing historical resources for members of the scholarly community, authors, and other interested persons.
The Archives and Records Management office is a private institutional repository, whose primary duty is to serve the archbishop, curial offices, and Catholic parishes. The Archives makes available and extends its materials as permitted by canon law, civil law, and privacy considerations to the public as a privilege accorded by the ecclesiastical authority of the Most Reverend Archbishop of San Antonio.
